Video Surveillance Cameras- Are They An Invasion Of Your Privacy?

Video surveillance cameras can thwart potential thieves from breaking and entering into your home. Modern technology permits you to record your home while you are on vacation transferring data over the internet through an nvr or network video cable .This device is very easy to install all you have to do is mount the camera and it is ready to run. Video surveillance is more prominent over in Europe due to rash attacks by certain political factions and terrorist attacks.

There are some pitfalls against having a video surveillance camera as sometimes they are targets for potential thieves. Once stolen, it leaves your home unprotected once again. Power outages or damage due to the weather can also disrupt the video surveillance rendering it useless or broken. However, many people do buy them as a measure of security against thieves who target homes that have little or no security measures in place. There are many different types of video surveillance cameras such as board cameras that are mounted on a circuit board. These are small and generally rounded in appearance. The other type is known as a bullet or lipstick cameras being long and cylindrical in shape.

Video cameras are used in retails services to help catch shoplifters, other was they are used in retail stores in for market research. Market research tracks what position the displays are used most effectively with the video surveillance cameras. These cameras tell the suppliers what items are picked up and bought and can tell the retail outlet what layouts work best within the store. Video surveillance cameras run from around 170.00 for the bullet type and upwards to about 500 dollars. The long range video surveillance cameras run around 700.00. For those who wish to either protect their valuables or increase their sales, video surveillance cameras are a good investment.

Video surveillance cameras are the norm in today’s world, they can be found in banks, subways, grocery stores and even small convenience stores. Some companies have several of these cameras on site, especially in the shipping/loading docks or warehouse section of the building. Many stores have them as a way to protect their goods as well as their lives. Smaller stores usually have a closed circuit television to relay what action the video surveillance camera picks up. Video surveillance cameras are also an invasion of privacy in such cases where a camera is used within a bedroom or bathroom. What do you think? Are they an invasion of your privacy?

Affiliate Marketing - How It Works

Affiliate Marketing – What Is It?

Affiliate Marketing is basically a marketing campaign by large companies or businesses looking for ways to increase their sales and profits thru online marketing strategies. Affiliate marketing is a big money saver for these companies because unlike conventional methods where the businesses paid for the advertising whether or not the product sold, business owners only pay when a specific result is achieved.

Affiliate Marketing usually takes place in three forms:

- Pay per Click

- Pay per Lead

- Pay per Sale

How they Work –

Pay Per Click – the affiliate (publisher) places a coded link on their website that they have obtained from the business site. Each time a visitor to their website clicks this link or ad, the affiliate receives a certain amount of revenue for that click. It is usually a very small amount a cent or two.

Pay Per Lead – the affiliate (publisher) is paid a commission by the business when a customer signs up at the business site. However, this doesn’t mean that a sale has to be made; a lead sometime qualifies for as little as an email address.

Pay Per Sale – the affiliate is only paid when there is a definite sale. This type of agreement is most favourable by the businesses it is a guaranteed sale and least favoured by the affiliate (publisher). The only way the affiliate gets paid is when the sale goes through.

One of the most biggest and profitable online marketers is Amazon.com. Being one of the earliest companies to adapt to this form of marketing, Amazon.com has hundreds of thousands of affiliate relationships. Many businesses that exploded into internet marketing in the following months and years patterned their marketing strategies after them.

Sometimes businesses will use an online community such as Craiglist to find affiliate marketers for their products by placing ads on the boards. Affiliates can find potential leads by posting in the services section or the resumes section of this community bulletin board.

Payment for affiliate marketing usually is a cheque but there are companies that pay you through the various online payment choices such as paypal, alertpay, to your credit card or debit and various other types. Before signing up for affiliate marketing be sure to check whether or not you are satisfied with the payment amounts and how you are to be paid.

Coupons for Shopping?

Many people use coupons for shopping as ways to save money on groceries and everyday items. Manufacturers offer coupons off of already reduced items in the hopes of clearing some of their stock. I use coupons occassionally but many people I know use them on a weekly basis saving hundreds of dollars off of their grocery bills in a year. Do you use coupons? Here are a couple that you can use:

Capcha Codes Are They Needed?

Many sites use Capcha Codes as a means to keep their site somewhat free of spammers. This code can be both helpful and bothersome at the same time. Capcha Codes should be in place when a person logs into their site but is it really needed every time you do something on a site? Take myspace for instance, many members are considering leaving the site because of the Capcha Code. Myspace is a place for communicating, meeting new people and socializing. Let's say someone posts a house party in a certain city, spontaneously in 3 hrs but limits the number of invites for instance. Everyone that doesn't have anything to do at this time within the area decides to go hook up with their friends on myspace. They quickly try to contact the party thrower on myspace but find everytime they go to email the Capcha Code is incorrect, not accepted or the event is full. Perhaps another way to signify the use of myspace for email or comments to others on the site is to make the sender put more than a "nice pic" or "where can we meet?" reply email as a response to something that they have seen on the site.

Yesterday, there was an article written up in the Washington Post in regards to spammers cracking the Capcha Codes that were put in place by the 3 Big Mail Servers on the internet. Microsoft, Yahoo and Google have all used Capcha Codes as a way to deter the spammers who bog down their mail servers with senseless offers of items or services that people don't want. These spammers both human and computer generated, have broken through some of the Capcha Codes allowing spam email to flood members mailboxes. They create numerous ficticious email addresses to send all sorts of spam email through the internet that somehow manages to bypass the spam email filters produced for this particular reason. Something different perhaps can be put in place once someone invents it but to quote the last statement, "Making tests harder for the computer, makes it harder for humans as well." Anyone have any suggestions? Does having Capcha Codes on sites bother you?

What Did You Do To Commemorate Earth Day Today?

Today people all over the world took some part in Earth Day. The First Earth Day started in April of 1970, spearheaded by Senator Gaylord Nelson. It was his concern over the years of how little the environment played a role in the nation's political circles. Many of the country's citizens realized how the environment was degrading through the misuse of it's natural resources. The effects of society's advancement was taking it's toil on the land, lakes, rivers and air. People realized that if something wasn't done to reverse or alter these harmful effects that eventually the sources would no longer be there. It started off as a grassroots movement that astonished the Senator as he didn't have the time or resources to organize the 20 million demonstrators nor the thousands of schools and communities that took part. Since that first year it has blossomed into a worldwide event. What did you or your community do to contribute to Earth Day, our most precious source?

Do Certain Things Do As They Claim?

Let's take Green Tea for example and does it help you to lose weight? Recent studies show that it does as toted by some of the experts out there. Perhaps it does and will for you if you use in the way it is supposed to be. Steeped in a cup of boiling water and drunk naturally not with the added sugar and milk or cream. Like many other ways to lose weight, they are a never ending losing battle because of all the extra added ingredients to make something taste rather exciting and not so bland. But I don't mind Green Tea plain... but take the great Potato for instance... what would it be like without a dab of butter. ketchup, sour cream, salt and pepper or grated cheese. Bland and uneatable.

Are Changes Good ?

Ever go to a mall after several months or a year of not being there? Only to find that all the familiar places such as shows, eating places and shops are no longer there. Shows you the ever changing city that we live in. Wandering aimlessly around a mall to find the perfect gift only to find that the sale items on clothing are almost in non existent sizes. Getting knocked about by the steady rush of people moving through the aisles, or around the salespeople trying to steer you in what they hope is the right direction. Living in a big cosmopolitan city, going to the big malls is a challenge in itself, not like when you were younger, light on the feet and more spring in your step. Old familiar places some are there, some are gone. Restructuring and remodeling, some good ideas and some not so good. Shows you the ever changing city that we live in, some old familiar places long forgotten long gone, still come to mind. What changes have you seen at your fav mall?

What Is Your Pet Peeve ?

Wish some people/corporations would update their websites. Peeves me off a bit to run around town to go to a show only to find out that the theatre closed down in January, although the movie and theatre is still listed as being there. With the cost of gas on the rise, time and money was a bit wasted today. Got to see the movie at another part of town so I guess it was okay. What is your pet peeve?

What Movie Did You See Recently?

Went and seen prom night tonight. Got in before 6 so it was matinee prices but the price of stuff at the foodstand was well UNBELIEVABLE! Five fifty for a buttered popcorn and three dollars for a bottle of water. Next time I think I will load up my pockets with cookies and snacks and also some small juicers.I thought it was a very good movie, scary yet a story of somewhat behind it. Not like most of the newer slash gore movies, where the killing is fast and furious and so similar. If you like horror movies go and see this one. What movies have your seen recently?
